Remembering Zach

Zachary John Olberding, 38, of St. Paul, Minnesota, passed away on May 10, 2026.

Zach was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, family member, and friend whose presence brought warmth, laughter, and kindness to those around him. He will be remembered for the love and laughter he shared with those around him and for the lasting impact he made on the lives of so many.

Zach had a way of making people feel comfortable, valued, and truly seen. He brought people together effortlessly through his sense of humor, his generosity, or simply the way he showed up for the people he cared about. He loved deeply and wholeheartedly, and the relationships he built throughout his life were a reflection of the incredible person he was. He found joy in the simple moments - spending time with the people he loved, sharing stories and laughter, and creating memories that will forever be cherished.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hermina and Wilfred Olberding, Patsy and George Utecht, and his Aunt Mary Utecht. He is survived by his wife, Erika; and their son, Parker; his parents, Tony and Jane Olberding; his brothers, Matt Olberding (Jill) and Mark Olberding; his sister, Olivia Olberding; and many loving extended family members and friends who will deeply miss him.

A celebration of Zach’s life will be held on Thursday, May 28 from 11:00AM - 1:30PM at BlackStack Brewing, all are welcome to stay as long as they would like. See details below.

Though his time with us was far too short, Zach’s love, spirit, and impact will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him. Zach will be forever loved, remembered, and deeply missed.
