About Zach
The most beautiful things in life do not last. Zach Muir, just 35, passed away peacefully at his home on July 8th. But not before gracing those of us close to him with a smile and light that shined through his long battle with mental illness. In life, he had a bottomless passion for food, music and sports. He treasured his frequent trips to western Europe to visit Flemish cousins. True to his big-hearted nature, he adored time with family, enjoying great food with his Mom, talking to his brother about what the future holds and enjoying an “occasional” cigar with his grandfather. We will always remember his insatiable desire to dance, his love of all music, his endless courage and desire to please and help others. Zach is survived by his loving mother Valerie, stepfather Scott Simantel, father Brent, brother Bryce, step brother Zack, and step sister Bailey, grandparents Tony and Mimi Sandler, loving Aunts & Uncles and Niece Kayden Muir. To properly celebrate the many ways his infectious spirit touched our lives, all are welcome to share stories (don’t hold back, Zach would love it:) on August 11, 2021 from 4-8pm at Lake Minnewashta Regional Park, 6900 Hazeltine Blvd, Chanhassen, MN 55331. Enter the park, turn left and follow the beach sign to the Lakeview Outdoor Gathering Space.
