Yvette Marie Wykes (née Rowlette)

February 26, 1967 – April 1, 2025

Yvette Marie Wykes (née Rowlette), age 58, passed away peacefully in hospice on April 1, 2025, in New Brighton, Minnesota. Born on February 26, 1967, in Robbinsdale, MN, Yvette lived a vibrant, adventurous life rooted in the Twin Cities, with a memorable 16-year chapter spent in Manchester, England, where she married and welcomed three of her children.

Yvette was a true free spirit—radiant, bold, and endlessly social. She had a laugh that lit up the room and a heart that was always open. Known for her generosity, Yvette found joy in helping others, often lending a hand with odd jobs, housework, or a home-cooked meal. She loved being surrounded by friends and family, always the first to brighten someone’s day with a joke, a story, or her signature colorful style.

Whether it was her ever-changing hair colors, bold nails and makeup, or the rings she wore on every finger, Yvette had a flair that was all her own. A country music fan at heart—perhaps unexpectedly so, given her eclectic style and years in the UK—she lived life with passion and unapologetic authenticity.

Yvette is lovingly survived by her five children—Demetrius Hall, Patricia Hall, Gabrielle Wykes, Britannia Wykes, and Brett Wykes—and her five adored grandchildren. She is also survived by her half-sister Breanna Carlson, her father Thomas Rowlette, and numerous extended family members and friends. She is now reunited in spirit with her brother Brett Rowlette, half-sister Alicia Carlson, and mother Patricia Carlson, who preceded her in death.

Yvette will be remembered for her vivacious spirit, the unmistakable twinkle in her eye, and her hearty, contagious laugh. Her presence was a gift to all who knew her.
