Wylis Peter Silvernagel

Wylis Peter Silvernagel, 85, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, passed away peacefully at his home in Amery, Wisconsin on March 8, 2022. Wylis was the 9th of 10 children, born on March 27, 1936; to George Peter and Magdalene (Sherr) Silvernagel in Pollock, South Dakota. Wylis grew up on his family's pioneer farm outside of Strasburg, North Dakota, where he graduated high school and attended St. Peter and Paul Church.

Wylis was a local farmer, professional musician/singer and a marina worker in Stillwater, Minnesota. He loved playing his guitar, singing, composing music and entertaining his family and friends. He was a talented country and western musician.

Wylis and his wife, Susan Hawkinson-Silvernagel, built a home and lived north of Amery, Wisconsin next to the Apple River where he enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the wildlife. Wylis will always be loved and missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, friends and acquaintances. He will be most remembered for his sweet nature, love for all people and outgoing likable personality. His spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
