life story

A loving husband, super dad, extraordinary granddad, great brother.

He guided us and leaves behind a legacy of strength and faith; he was the embodiment of strength, happiness and love. Our father was a guiding light, a king without a crown, a man of God and a bearer of truth and knowledge.

About Winston Anthony Johnson "Strong/ Gold teeth"

Winston was born in 1955 to parents Ivan Johnson and Lilly-Ann Johnson in the quiet community of Elleston, Spur Tree, Manchester. He grew up as a happy hardworking son who knew what he desired out of life.

In his early days of employment, he travelled to the United States and Canada on the farm work programs. Later he was employed at Alpart in St Elizabeth which after operations ceased, he resorted to full time farming in his home district.

Winston got married to the beautiful Juliet in 1995. The union produced 5 beautiful children: daughters Simmone and Tamara, sons Peter, Roshawn and Kadrew.

Winston was very involved in community building and enrichment activities serving as a spokesperson onvarious situations. He was lover of dominoes and participated in many competitions hosted both inside and outside the community. He loved fried chicken with a passion and couldn't have enough of his favourite combinations of either rice and mackerel or rice with saltfish.

In 2008, Winston got baptized at the New Testament church in French Park, Spur Tree and served God and the church faithfully until his passing. He served on the church board, as the men's department president and as head of maintenance.

He was a great example of a family man; he was involved in everything involving his family and relatives wherever it was being held. Winston would always make it his point of duty to be there to support what ever it was.

Winston is remembered for his sense of humor, his electric smile, his iconic walk and his fearless approach to expressing his uncensored and undiluted feelings. Winston, rest in the arms of Jesus; we love you but Jesus loved you best.

Fondly remembered by wife Juliet, 2 daughters, 3 sons, 9 grandchildren, 3 sisters, 3 brothers, a host of community members, church family and friends.
