Winifred Hanson Thibault, 95, our beloved Aunt and Dear Friend, of Bemidji, and formerly of Duluth MN died Monday, August 8, 2022 at the Havenwood Care Center.

She was born on September 9, 1926, in Shevlin, MN, the daughter of Henry “Hank” and Dorothy (Noyes) Hanson. She graduated from Bagley High School and moved to Duluth to pursue a career.

She met and married Wilbur “Webb” Thibault. Winnie was a lady of many talents: she enjoyed sewing, knitting, she was a musician, an artist, as well as a dog lover. You would find her walking the beach of Park Point with her dogs daily.

Winnie worked over 40 years at the University of Duluth. She was an Executive Secretary to the Vice Chancellor of Student Life, and then for the Department of Health, Physical Education, and Rec, for over 20 years. Her water color paintings still hang in the Halls where she worked. She retired in 1988 and spent more time painting and enjoying the art groups that she loved.

She leaves behind her loving dog “Willie,” many nieces, nephews, and good friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Webb Thibault in 2004, as well as her parents, brothers, and sisters.
