William Westervelt
July 14, 1944 – August 5, 2026
St Paul, MN, USA
Bill fought a long medical battle, but sadly passed away at Bethesda Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) in downtown St. Paul. He was among loved ones at the time of his passing.
Ramsey County Human Services was lucky to have employed Bill for almost 40 years as a child protection worker. He was well respected by colleagues whom he cherished and who remained as life long friends. Always willing to help not only the families he worked with, but colleagues as well. Many families in Ramsey County benefited from Bill’s knowledge and experience.
Bill served his country as a proud United States Marine during the Vietnam era.
Collecting, and repairing antique lamps was a hobby turned into part work for Bill. Bill was well known in the antique lamp business. He was also a member of the Model A club. He owned a few Model A’s over the years. Every leap year the Model A club members would gather to parade their Model A’s. Peggy and Bill enjoyed time together taking road trips especially to the UP of Michigan.
Bill was an engaging, fun guy who showed compassion and encouragement to all who knew him. Bill had a great sense of humor and loved to be around people.
A special thanks to the staff at Bethesda LTAC who took good care of Bill. And, deepest appreciation to our friends, Sue and Kevin for their caring and kindness during this time.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to friends, family and neighbors who walked along side us with such compassion and support during this difficult time.
Bill lived a full life, he is deeply loved and missed.
