About Bill

William “Bill” Mayo Miller, age 58 was born on November 5th, 1963, to Earl Miller and Rita (Fayant) Miller in Park Rapids Minnesota. Bill passed away on November 1st, 2022, at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center surrounded by his family after many years of battling chronic illness. Bill was given the gift of life not once, but twice from two gracious kidney donors. In 2001, Bill received a kidney from his sister Vicky and in 2010 received a second kidney donation from another special hero.

While Bill was a teenager, he met his future wife, Jamie. Bill and Jamie were united in marriage on April 26, 1985, in Henderson, TX, while working on a construction crew with his father. Bill and Jamie were blessed with five daughters: Shannon, Ryan, Chelsie, Bailey, and Mackensie. Bill and Jamie later gained a “heart adopted” daughter, Alisa. In addition to his daughters, Bill was blessed with a great group of sons-in-law who he lovingly referred to as the “guys” as well as his favorite daughter-in-law.

Bill grew up in the Osseo, Maple Grove, Champlin area and attended high school in Anoka, MN. Bill furthered his education by attending vocational school, where he studied refrigeration/appliance repair, obtained his CDL, and Contractor’s license. Throughout Bill’s life, he worked various jobs to support his family.

Bill and Jamie raised their children in Princeton, MN and later moved to Lake George, MN, where Bill enjoyed spending time with his father, family, and friends. Bill enjoyed fishing on Paine Lake, four-wheeling around the area, working in his shop and teaching those closest to him while drinking an ice cold “Coke-ola”. Bill was a jack of all trades, he loved to tinker with things, troubleshoot and fix whatever needed to be fixed (except our SEGA).

Bill will be remembered as a loving brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Jamie (O’Brien) Miller, his 6 daughters, Shannon (Heather) Miller, Ryan (Sean) Hegarty, Chelsie (Jason) Miller-Starr, Bailey (Kevin) Lease, Mackensie (Ben) Miller-Fetters and Alisa (Tom) Travaglio, his 9 grandchildren, Colton, Camden, Ava, Loghan, Finley, Hazel, Milo, Carter and Kaylee, his 3 sisters Dawn (Tim) Fishel, Vicky Gasparrini and Roberta Miller, as well as several nieces, nephews, friends, and other family members.

Bill is proceeded in death by his father Earl Miller, Mother Rita (Fayant) Miller, Stepmother Peggy Miller, Father-in-law Michael O’Brien and Nephew Eric Fishel.

Active casketbearers are Jason Starr, Camden Starr, Kevin Lease, Sean Hegarty, Ben Fetters, Colton O’Neal and Tom Travaglio. The honorary casketbearers are David O’Brien, Tom Chaklos, Mike Ott, Mike Gasparrini, Richard Bessler and Brad Scilley.

The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and kind words as we navigate through this difficult time.
