Wade Oscar Rugroden, 60, passed away peacefully at home in Forest Lake, Minnesota, on Sunday, January 4, 2026, surrounded by love and held in the arms of his wife, Jodie.

Wade was born on December 16, 1965, in Albert Lea, Minnesota. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army, serving two years on active duty and 6 years in the National Guard. Following his graduation from Mankato State University he began his career in corrections by working 2 years for the Washington County Sheriff Dept and 27 years as a Sgt for the MN DOC.

Wade married the love of his life, Jodie, in 2005 and warmly embraced the role of stepfather to Jihan, Jordan, Zozanne and Shereen who blessed him with his cherished grandchildren: Kamiran, Julia, Aryonna, Isaiah, Anthony, and Autumn. Together they shared 20 years filled with love, laughter and countless adventures—from state parks and football stadiums to museums. Their dogs—Bailey, Teddy, and Wolfie—were always part of the journey. He loved the outdoors, hiking and fishing. On the weekends, you could always find him cheering on his favorite teams, the Vikings and Gophers. In 2019, they made their dream come true when they moved to their home on Clear Lake

Survived By

His wife, Jodie Rugroden; children: Jihan Moore and Zozanne Dizayee; grandchildren: Kamiran, Julia, Aryonna, Isaiah, Anthony, and Autumn; brothers Charles (LaVanna) Rugroden and Steve (Sandy) Rugroden; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will miss him dearly.

His parents, George and LaVonne Rugroden; his brother Ross Rugroden and Ross’s wife, Kerri; children Jordan Dizayee and Shereen Dizayee and son-in-law Ben Moore.
