Vivian Violet Anderson, 85 years old died March 9, 2022, after a protracted battle with cancer. She will be deeply missed.

Vivian Violet Morrison was born on April 29, 1936, in Ogema, MN the daughter of Chester and Mabel Morrison. She was baptized and confirmed in the Episcopal Church in Ogema.

After completing high school, she attended University of North Dakota Deaconess Hospital and graduated with a Nursing Degree.

While working at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Fargo, ND she met Glen Anderson who was attending NDSU. They were married in Ogema on June 6, 1959. Glen was an engineer with the United States Forest Service, and as a result the family lived in various locations before settling in Bemidji, MN in 1971.

Vivian was a compassionate and caring nurse. She worked at the Bemidji Hospital for 20 years and was awarded “Nurse of Year” in recognition of her exceptional care.

She was an accomplished quilter, making many beautiful quilts for her family. She was a perfectionist, and her quilts are works of art. She was one of the original members of the Calvary Lutheran Church Quilters. They have made hundreds of quilts as well as school kits and layettes for Lutheran World Relief and local charities.

Above all Vivian was a loving and patient mother and grandmother. She raised four children born over a five-year period. She invested much time and love into each relationship, and she was loved deeply in return.

Vivian is a child of God and a member of God’s family. Jesus was her friend, and she was ready to meet Him.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband Glen, and her children, Doreen (Dennis) Santa Fe, NM. and her sons Zachary and Ryan; Clifford (Erica) Madison, WI and their children Luke, Timothy, Christian and Katrina; Debra (Mike) North Liberty, IA and her children Geremy, Meghan, and Nicole; and Melissa (Tim) Bismarck, ND and their sons Carl and Isaac and 8 great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her siblings Eugene, Chuck, and Larry.
