About Virginia

Virginia (Ginny) died peacefully at home on July 22, 2022. She is preceeded in death by parents Alma (Hubbell) and James Roddy, siblings Muriel, Gerald, Roger (Shirley), Jack (Lorraine), and Tom. Survived by children Roddy (Darcy), Suzanne, and Joseph (Angie), grandchildren Karlene, Will, Dara, Lucille, nieces and nephews and lifetime friends. Ginny was born in Minneapolis and attended Incarnation Elementary School, graduated from Holy Angels in 1952, and the College of St. Catherine in 1956. She taught elementary school before raising her children. After her children were older, she went back to work at the bank and in education and enjoyed her coworkers. We are grateful to Dr. Bhavjot Kaur who provided excellent care, kindness, and compassion to Ginny and her family over the years. Special thanks to Annette, Susan, and Joanie from Home Instead. Ginny will be remembered for her sense of humor, her love for her family, friends, pets, music, sewing, knitting, and crossword puzzles. Ginny was interred on 10/20/2022 at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis in the Garden Mausoleum - Room 112C - Tier East A - Niche 20. Celebration of life at a later date.
