About Vernon

Vernon "Chubby" Bridges passed away early morning on September 1, 2022 in his home. He was born April 18, 1958 in Hattiesburg, MS,

The oldest son of Laverne and Catherine (Mays) Bridges.

Vernon graduated from Hattiesburg High school, class of 1976. Following high school Vernon started working for Sunbeam home goods, and continued working there for 25 years. Vernon married Lisa (Austin) B ridges, March 30, 1987, after many dedicated years together. They welcomed their son Lemanuel Charles Bridges in October 1987 , and their son Tyron Bridges in August 1989. Vernon, sacrificed tirelessly for his wife and sons, leading by example to the community and his family that the fruits of hard labor are important. He was also employed for Forrest General hospital later in life for several years.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Gene K. Bridges and Johnny M. Bridges, and his son Tyron Bridges.

He is survived by his loving and loyal wife Lisa (Austin) Bridges, his son Vernon Junior, granddaughter Karsynn, and grandson Robert " RJ" Ceaser Jr, as well as the oldest son of Vernon and Lisa; Lemanuel Bridges (Kayla Richardson Bridges) grandsons Jabari, Jayden, Jo'Dyiah, and Adrian , his granddaughter Zaniyah Bridges' (Jeanette Bridges) as well as his loving nieces, nephews, and many other family, friends, and loved ones.

Services will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at 11 AM
