Tyrone T. Levercom (Tye), 66, St.Paul, passed away on August 15th, 2023 in his home in Princeton MN of natural causes.

Tyrone was born in Mendota, MN on May 27th, 1957 to Alice and Morley Levercom. He spent most of his young life there living close to his family and his many lifelong friends. He married the love of his life, ValJean Levercom on January 28, 1978 and they remained together for 39 years until her passing in 2017. Together they raised two children, Kayleen (Sokol) and Tyler. They also had the joy of taking in an ‘unofficial’ son, Juan Pagan, and helping to raise him as well. Tye graduated from St. Paul Technical College with a degree in Air Conditioning and Major Appliance Repair and found a job, and a home, at Road Rescue building ambulances. He took great pride in the quality of his important work installing all the electrical support in each vehicle. He worked there for many years before they moved the company to a different state. Even though he had to leave behind the career he loved, he carried with him a group of co-workers that had become a second family. He had several other jobs in his field until his retirement in 2020. He always had a joy and a passion for art and music. He spent many hours playing his guitar near a campfire, building and painting model cars, or just drawing in his notebook. He loved thunderstorms, the Three Stooges and comedy movies from the 1980’s.

Tyrone is preceded in death by his loving parents, Morely and Alice, his brother Ralph and his devoted wife, ValJean.

He is survived by his children, Kayleen (Josh) and Tyler, his grandchildren, Olivia, Audrey, Ellie, and Delilah, his siblings, Larry, Rosie (Daryl), and Jeff (Barb), as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

The family will be holding a Celebration of Life Gathering on Saturday, September 23rd at the VFW Hall, 1323 Sibley Memorial Hwy, Mendota, MN 55150. The event will be held from 4-9pm with a short remembrance led by Colleen Woodley at 5pm.
