Who's Trina?

Born on a cold and crisp Thursday, December 26th 1968 in Bellingham Washington, the first of 3 siblings.

Died on a bright and beautiful Sunday afternoon, July 20th 2025 in Irvine California in the arms of her daughter, surrounded and supported by her chosen sons and loving grandson.

Trina was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in September 2024 and passed away just 10 months later after fighting extreme and unique complications.

Her last 6 weeks were incredibly precious because of her near-death experience in early June, surviving a hospice involved fentanyl overdose. Trina was also suffering from complications due to negligent oncological care. During this time, her daughter and son-in-law took constant care of her, ensuring she was never alone in her fight.

Trina lived her life with purpose. To use her humor and communication skills to inspire and empower others to live their better, truer lives. She did this by being an accountability partner not only as a friend and a mom but as a successful business owner of Go for Goals AP Services. She healed herself through experiences with Jack Canfield and Young Living Essential Oils. She built a legacy at Empire Today winning multiple awards and then having her own created and named after her…the Trina Sette ACE Excellence Award. She found her likeminded peers through Jenny Craig and the Business Referral Network of Irvine. She was a loyal and dedicated daughter, and the best big sister she could be. As a friend Trina sang your praises and cheered the loudest. As a Mom, she broke generational curses and created the harmonious and loving family she needed and deserved. She succeeded both professionally and personally. The more she had the more she gave, always pouring positivity into others. She loved singing her heart out at Smitty’s downtown and traveling the world with friends and family going on as many adventures as she could. She grew up playing in the Washington woods, and her sense of adventure only grew as she did. Her joy of being a grandmother and sharing in these adventures radiated throughout all our lives. Her love and excitement echoes through all of us. Trina’s last months took her and her family to Universal Studios where they created magical core memories, to riding snowmobiles at The Last Resort in Washington, playing with Alligators in the Everglades, to parasailing and swimming with the sea turtles and whales in Oahu.

Trina’s family that remains unified in her absence include her only daughter Alicia Jean “Kyttie” (Smith) and her caring son-in-law Nicholas Tinsley, her favorite grandson Jameson Stockton and his father Rajah Stockton, her younger sister and little brother, Terri Lee Bullard and Jim Bullard, and her loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her mother and father, Alma Jean (Smith) and Dave Woods welcomed her into her heaven along with her sweet dog Bailey.

Knowing Trina meant knowing she was a force of light, like a firework. Bright and sparkly like her favorite holiday, The 4th of July. She requested her celebration of life to be held over the next 4th of July holiday weekend in 2026 at La Jolla Cove/ Ellen Browning Scripps Park. This is where she was happiest with her friends and family. If you were lucky enough to spend a holiday with us there then you already know how truly special this place was to her.
