life story
Forever in Our Hearts
Trey was a deeply caring, generous, and kind-hearted person whose presence touched everyone around him. He had a way of making people feel seen and included, no matter who they were or what they were going through. If he had food, he shared it. If he had clothes, he gave them. If someone needed company or kindness, he showed up. Giving was natural to him, not because he had a lot, but because he had a big heart.
He was known for his warmth, his openness, and the way he treated people with genuine compassion. Even in difficult times, he managed to lift others up. He loved deeply, and he cared without hesitation. His friends, family, and community admired the way he always tried to do right by people, even when life wasn’t easy for him.
Though his life was far too short, the impact he had was real and lasting. He leaves behind memories full of laughter, shared moments, and the quiet ways he showed love. He will be remembered as someone who gave freely, loved openly, and lived with heart.
Those who knew him will forever carry the imprint of his kindness. His absence is felt deeply, but his spirit — generous, gentle, and loving — will stay with us always.
About Trey
Treyvon Lee Peterson, 33, was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota and grew up in Columbia Heights and Fridley. From the time he was young, Trey had a warm, talkative spirit and a smile that showed up even on the hardest days. He was known for being kind, generous, and endlessly caring; The type of person who always tried to cheer others up, even when he was struggling himself.
Trey was full of laughter, energy, and little quirks that made him unforgettable. He often shook his leg out of habit, saved old cellphones and random treasures he found, and loved keeping memories from his childhood close. He didn’t need much to be happy; simple things like a walk, a nap, a good conversation, or a night of pizza were more than enough for him.
Music was a huge part of Trey’s world. He loved to rap and spent years filling notebooks with lyrics, rhymes, and ideas. Creating music was where he expressed himself most freely. He also enjoyed exploring, hanging out with friends, and being part of anything that made him feel connected and alive.
Above all else, Trey loved his family. He texted them constantly, checked in often, and held them close in his heart even when life was complicated. He adored his two sons, Jordan and Juel, his greatest achievements and the brightest parts of his life. He cared deeply for his mom, grandmother, and sister, and fiercely protected the people he loved.
Trey had a gentle, goofy way of making people feel seen. He laughed easily, gave generously, and shared what he had without hesitation. He wasn’t perfect and faced challenges, but he never stopped loving, trying, or showing up for others in the ways he could.
His life was far too short, but the impact he made through his kindness, his humor, his music, and his love for his family will always remain. His memory lives on most beautifully through his sons, and through all the people who carry a piece of his heart with them.
