A Life Well-Loved: Tonya Sullivan Remembered for Her Kindness and Faith
Tonya Sullivan, a beacon of kindness and a lifelong resident of the Dunedin community, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025, after a stroke. She was 62.
Born on July 11, 1963, Tonya lived a life defined by her gentle spirit and her deep love for her family, her animals, and the simple joys of the Florida sun. She was a devoted mother, a faithful friend, and a woman whose warmth touched all who knew her.
Tonya’s greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was her daughter, Courtney Vujakovich. She cherished their bond and was delighted to welcome Nick Moore into their family as a son-in-law. Her love for her family was the cornerstone of her life.
A woman of simple yet profound pleasures, Tonya found solace and happiness in her favorite places and pastimes. She was an avid equestrian who shared a special connection with horses, a passionate Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan who never missed a game, and a beach lover who found peace walking along the shoreline and listening to the waves. Her heart had plenty of room for all creatures, great and small, and she was a devoted advocate for animals throughout her life.
Her faith was a guiding force, and she was a cherished member of the First Dunedin Methodist Church, where she found fellowship and community.
Tonya will be remembered for her immense kindness, her gentle soul, and the quiet strength she brought to every room. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and a reminder to find joy in life's simple blessings.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Courtney Vujakovich, and her son-in-law, Nick Moore.
A service to celebrate Tonya’s life will be held at the First Dunedin Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the [Local SPCA or Animal Rescue Organization of your choice] in her memory, honoring her lifelong love for animals.
May she rest in eternal peace, watching her Buccaneers from the best seat in the house, surrounded by all the animals she loved so dearly.
