Tom Larson

Thomas "Tom" Larson, 78, of Eagan, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025, after a courageous battle with lung disease and lung cancer. Born November 15, 1947, Tom made Eagan his home for over 50 years, living a life marked by hard work, dedication to youth, and a deep love for family and the outdoors.

After graduating from Richfield High School in 1965 and a brief stint in the U.S. Army, Tom built a career in the hardware business. He owned a hardware store in South St. Paul before spending decades as a marketing representative, traveling throughout the Midwest and building lasting friendships with customers and colleagues across the region.

Tom coached youth soccer in Eagan and Burnsville for many years, forming bonds with his players, and coaches and enjoying the challenge of the game. He also served as a Cub Scout pack leader, putting his carpentry and construction skills to work building an elaborate pinewood derby track for his pack.

Tom helped his father build the family cabin on Big Sandy Lake, which became his sanctuary for nearly five decades. He devoted himself to improvement projects there, creating a haven that brought joy to him, his family, and many others who visited over the years.

Tom was known for his wonderful sense of humor, his strength in facing life's challenges, and his love of simple pleasures - spaghetti, brownies, and iced tea.

Tom is survived by his son Chad (Laura) Larson; daughter Kim (Gary) Bartels; son Brian (Rachel) Larson; seven grandchildren: Jenna and Brendan Larson, Brynn and Elise Larson, and Megan, Ben, and Catherine Bartels; and three brothers: Dan, Steven, and Will Larson.

All who knew Tom will miss his great sense of humor and his strength in battling life's trials. Rest in peace, Tom.
