life story

Loving father and friend to all!

Timothy Joseph Arrell of New Hope, Minnesota, passed away on October 20, 2025, at the age of 76.

Timothy was born on October 30, 1948, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to the late Ann Lorraine (Althoff) Arrell and Bernard John Arrell. Timothy graduated from North High School in 1970. A jack of all trades, he worked many careers throughout his life, a cab driver, carpenter, pipefitter, and general laborer. Outside of work, he enjoyed playing guitar, woodworking, tinkering with electronics, and collecting movies and music. Most of all, he enjoyed connecting with his family and helping the residents of The Lodge of New Hope, where he resided for the last several years of his life.

Timothy was united in marriage to Janet Lee Mach November 17,1972. Soon following, welcoming their beloved children, Christina, in 1973, and later, Amy, in 1978. In 1989, he was proud to be his brother's best man, giving away his brother Dennis to his greatest love, Alice. Many significant family times followed as the family grew. He was a proud father and grandfather who provided a solid foundation of love for his family.

Timothy is survived by his two loving children, Christina Arrell (Dean Billman) and Amy (Matthew) Senholtz. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Steven (Brittney) Arrell, Quinten (Ashley) Billman, Savannah Senholtz (Reece Petron), Adam Senholtz, and the baby of the family, Kathryn Senholtz.

He also leaves behind many great-nieces and great-nephews, former wife Janet Freedlund, former father-in-law the great Alvin Mach, lifelong friend Rob Melanson, and longtime family friend Jeanne Spooner.

Timothy is preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Ann Arrell, his brothers Jeffrey Arrell, Dennis Arrell, sister Susan McDonald, and his niece Melissa Johnson.

Our father will be remembered for his quick wit, sense of humor, and the unconditional love and affection he gave his family and friends. We are all grateful to have been graced by his presence in this life and will grieve this loss and honor his legacy for the lifetime to come.
