life story
A true valiant fighter
It's not good bye - It's see you later.
Timothy Charles King
Age 65 years , 5 months and 16 days
Timothy was born to Clare (Schmokel) and Timothy F King in St Paul, MN, who preceded him in death.
Timothy graduated from Mounds View High School, Class of 1974. He loved life and fought his cancer so hard and our plans were to beat it but the cancer had other plans for his tall thin frame. After a long consideration, he decided on Christmas Eve morning that his feedings should stop (tube feeder) and that he was ready to go home to Jesus. He called a friend and said a final “See You Later” and recorded a beautiful message for everyone. Within minutes, he then went unconscious. He remained unresponsive until his last breath on the morning of the 30th. There were no facility beds available, so the Love of his Life, Cheri, his Dream Girl as he affectionately called her, took care of him at home.
Timothy had so much love in his heart and it showed in all that he did. He loved his M&M’s, Kit-Kat’s, darts, NASCAR races, #12 Ryan Blaney, Elko, Dover and Phoenix racetracks. Loved beer, wine or Gin Martini’s. Tim had a great voice and loved to sing karaoke, he even was a substitute disc jockey when needed back in the day.
Tim was 100% a foodie. He loved good food including all you could eat Sushi. He was an absolute FANTASTIC cook/chef. Wow, some of the meals that that man could make were incredible. He loved going out to eat and loved preparing meals. Everything but turkey!
Loved traveling especially England and had plans to go back there. Loved going to Red Wing, Phoenix, California, Wisconsin, and so many more places. Had plans to do more cruising until Covid stopped that. He would have enjoyed Cabo back in 2020 more if the cancer hadn’t already caused so much damage to his body. He enjoyed relaxing by the pools, the free beverages, the friends and the warm sunshine.
He absolutely loved his BMW’s and his Honda motorcycles: old CT 70’s, CT-90’s, 1500 Goldwing and newer ones like his Groms and Monkey. He loved Film Noir, old western and military type movies and Fox News, especially The Five and Gutfeld.
The man was so knowledgeable on airplanes and often went to the local Crystal Airport or to St Paul to watch the planes and even got to know some of the people there. Loved working at Fed Ex so that he could be near the planes and when he loaded them. He was thrilled when he was gifted a Discovery flight and flew the plane. He was over the moon happy. He went to air museums whenever he had the opportunity. Loved going to the Osceola Wisconsin Wheels and Wings airshow annually.
Tim’s mind never shut off and he was always designing stuff, working on applications, or finding solutions to mechanical situations. Even in his sleep. OHLA’s were his favorite.
He had so many fond memories of his Boomer/Arrone's days and so enjoyed his Friday outings at Ray-J’s. Tim was blessed with a multitude of friends from childhood on: School chums, family, co-workers, neighbors, best friends, buddies, his cat Amos and his gal Cheri.
Timothy is survived by the love of his life Cheryl “Cheri” Shrack, Brother Tom and his wife Sandi Slick, Sister Anita and husband Jim McCarthy and niece Shannon (Chase) Conover, other family and many, many friends. He is also survived by Cheri’s Mom (Shirley) and Dad (Don) who Tim lovingly referred to as “Momma and Daddy.” Cheri’s children and grandchildren who he considered his own and loved them dearly, especially grands Aiden and Cohen.
Tim was loved by all and had so many friends across the globe. He was a Regional Sales Manager for 35 years, worked for Fed-Ex and at last drove a dock truck before lung cancer required him take an early retirement.
Tim didn’t want any fuss and asked that there be no service or celebration of life. Many of his friends have asked and in March there will be a get together of Tim’s friends to talk about old times, reminisce, have a toast and will play the “See you Later” message that Tim left for everyone. The date is pending and will advise. If you want to be notified, please send your name and phone number to tckcas@yahoo.com or 612-281-6297.
Gods blessings to all. From Tim... See You later.
