Obituary

Timothy "Tim" Rothstein, 61, of River Falls, WI, passed away on September 01, 2023 after a quick and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Shell Lake, WI to Arnold "Arnie" and Jackie Rothstein and grew up in Spooner, WI.

Tim was fiercely passionate about anything having to do with the outdoors. Tim was happiest when hiking with his soulmate, Karen Finke; fishing with his sons, Trevor and Trent; and camping with life-long friends, Tim Powers and Todd Andre. If you knew Tim well, you were probably gifted a beautiful, handcrafted walking stick that he took great pride in.

Tim was a devoted grandfather and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was always willing to be silly and loved to have fun with them. They will always remember the fun that they had with “Grandpa Tim”.

Timothy was predeceased by his mother, Jackie; his father, Arnold; as well as his grandparents, aunts, and uncles. Tim leaves behind many who loved him: Soulmate Karen Finke; Sons Trevor (Laura) Rothstein, and Trent Rothstein (Joni Rose); Stepmother Guida Rothstein; Sister Tammy Rantala; brother Tom (Machelle) Rothstein; stepsister Michelle (Chris) Zirbel; Honorary daughters Brenna and Megan Finke; co-parents to his sons, Jill (Bill) Blain; grandchildren Daphne, Henry, and Dorothy Rothstein; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

A celebration of Tim’s life will be held at the Glen Park Pavilion, 361 West Park Street, River Falls, WI 54022 on October 22, 2023 from 11:00am to 3:00pm. A small prayer service will be held at the beginning. Please note that the celebration will be a casual, open-house style with lunch provided. Please honor Tim’s memory by wearing your favorite Bigfoot or fishing shirt if you have one.
