Tom Reifenberger

Age 89, Richfield. Tom passed away at his home in Richfield on Saturday, June 20th, 2026. He dealt with Lymphoma the last year and a half the same way he dealt with life - with endless humor. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jerri, and a large beautiful blended family. Children, Christine (Daniel) Stein, Virginia DeMun (Mike Bihl), Thomas (Kathy Jo) Reifenberger and Joseph Reifenberger. Step-children Nancy Roberts (Jeff Thune), Ann Christian, Matt (Tory) Christian, Mike (Carmen) Christian and Joe (Cindy) Christian. Three sisters - Leona, Mary and Helen (Duane), 27 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and his best furry friend, Bill.

He was greeted at the gates by his parents, ex-wife Sharon Anderson, daughters Melissa and Mary Veronica, siblings Paul and Evie, as well as grandson, BJ and great-granddaughter Vivianna.

Tom loved to share a story and a laugh with whomever would listen. His love language was food, especially spaghetti. He was an avid sports fan, favoring any Minnesota team or whatever activity his grandkids were involved in. He was always up for a round of golf, even playing adaptive golf when cancer took the use of his legs. He watched endless YouTube videos on how to improve his swing.

Whether it was cribbage or a round of 500, he would play a hand of cards at any time with anyone. He found as much joy in teaching his grandkids the beauty of a 29 point hand as he did in skunking them.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the countless people that made up Tom’s village. This includes the Tucson, Richfield and Excelsior friends, and especially neighbors Cyndi and John and brother-in-law Mike Koshenina. A heartfelt thank you to Grace Hospice as well for putting up with Tom’s sense of humor as well as making his transitions peaceful.

There will be a celebration of Tom’s life on Sunday, August 9th at Veteran’s Park in Richfield from 5:30-8:00 pm.
