Terry Lee Aas

Terry (Wegenast) Aas, age 65, passed away surrounded by her family on November 1st after a short illness.

Terry was born in Fargo, ND on December 14, 1957 to Dean and Gail (Korsgaden) Wegenast. She attended Fargo South High School followed by four years at the University of North Dakota graduating with a bachelor’s in social work. While attending college she met Dan Aas. They were married in May of 1981. After moving to Minneapolis in 1987, she took night classes to earn her MBA from the University of St. Thomas, all while working full time and raising two children. In Minneapolis, Terry worked for Pillsbury and for United Healthcare, retiring in 2021. After retirement she and Dan split their time between homes in Eden Prairie, MN and Ft. Meyers, FL.

Terry was a voracious reader, particularly mysteries. She loved golfing, Star Trek, enjoying the sunshine at her family’s lake home at Little Pine near Perham MN, and above all else, spending time with her family.

Terry is survived by her husband, Daniel Aas, son Andrew Aas, daughter, Julia Aas (James Lyle), sister Patty (Derek) Lewis, brother Tim (Kari) Wegenast, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Terry was preceded in death by her parents Dean and Gail Wegenast.

A memorial will be held at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Eden Prairie on Monday November 13th. Visitation will be at the church at 1:00pm with the service at 2:00pm. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Eden Prairie, MN, or the J.A. Wedum Residential Hospice in Brooklyn Park, MN, or a charity of the donor’s choice. Internment will occur later at a location and time TBD.

Gathering at church at 1 PM, Service at 2 PM, Reception in Fellowship Hall after Service. Come to our house after the reception for a celebration of life.
