life story

A beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Friend

Sunday September 18th Teresa (Resa to her friends and family) passed into the arms of her loving savior Jesus Christ. Teresa suffered a Heart Attack on Tuesday June 6th and despite the best lifesaving efforts of the staff at Mayo's St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester Minnesota the Lord Called her home 13 days later. Her son Stuart Weist attended her bedside every day, so she was not alone as was one of her greatest fears.

Teresa leaves behind one Son Stuart (Michelle) Weist, and 3 grandchildren Nicholas, Eric, and Lucas along with all her church family at the First Baptist church of Preston Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her Mother Shirley Melynk-Angel and Sister Rebecca (Becky) Snow.

Teresa will be greatly missed by not only her family but all who knew and worked with her over the years. A memorial service for Teresa Weist will be held at the First Baptist Church of Preston Minnesota on October 1st at 11am. All who knew Teresa are welcome to attend.

An additional public service for internment will be held in Southern California at a later date. Please keep up to date on this obituary and Facebook for updates on the California service. Please feel free to leave memories, condolences, and prayers here. For additional information please call the First Baptist Church of Preston 507-765-4960.

About Resa

Resa (mom) loved to be with family. She worked most of her life in the medical industry as an administration coordinator and billing supervisor for the coding department at the University of California San Diego’s medical hospital.

Retiring in 2018 she relocated to Preston Minnesota to be closer to her family and Grandchildren. Resa became very active in her local church and loved to attend all the various sporting events and concerts her grandchildren were in. Always wanting to support them her laugh and 2 fingered whistles she was immediately recognizable by all who knew her.

Just this year Resa was able to purchase a new home only a few yards from where her family lives as she wanted to have her own place but also be close enough that they could help care for her in her retirement years. However, after only 5 months in her new home (mostly unpacked) the Lord saw fit to call her home.

Its impossible to sum up an entire life in a couple paragraphs but Resa lived her life to the fullest. Loving road trips, a good garage sale, sweets, time with friends and family she will be greatly missed.
