About Tate
We are deeply saddened to announce that on the night of September 28th, 2026, Tate Dinwiddie succumbed to his injuries and passed away in his sleep at age 44. He was surrounded by the care and comfort of wonderful doctors and family. Though he is gone, he will never be forgotten.
Tate was born an only child on April 28th, 1982, in Houston, Texas to his parents, Mary and Edward Dinwiddie. Early in his life, he developed an affinity for Veganism, as well as advocacy for animal rights; a passion that only grew alongside him.
Throughout his life, he contributed greatly to many animal rights organizations, and was well known and respected in his community for spreading awareness about Veganism and its benefits.
Above all else, however, Tate cherished his family. He is survived by his former wife, Brittany Gillis, his daughter, Elizabeth Dinwiddie, and his soon-to-be son-in-law, Derek Wright. Tate is also survived by many friends and coworkers who will always remember him for his dedication to his work, humble nature, and passionate activism.
A service and burial will be held at Tate’s home in his backyard, as requested in his will, on October 4th at 11:00 am.

Service and Burial
October 4, 2026
Tate requested that the service be held in his backyard, where he will be buried along his late pet Parrot, named Carrot (Carrot Parrot). Though this may seem unorthodox, we ask that all attendees respect Tate’s decision.
