About Tane

SFC (retired) Tane D. Anderson passed away in his home on July 19, 2021, at the age of 50. Tane was born October 8, 1970, in Brainerd, MN, to Clyde and Mary Anderson. He grew up on their dairy farm and worked side by side with his family to make the farm successful. He graduated from Wrenshall High School in 1989 and went on to attend Vermilion College in Ely, where he earned his degree in Park Management. He worked as a Park Ranger in both Wisconsin and Minnesota. He met his wife, Susan, at Wild River State Park and they were married in 1992. They had 2 daughters, Elinor and Elizabeth. Tane joined the MN Army National Guard and was a member of the 34th Infantry Division, following in his grandfather, Orvis’s footsteps as a Red Bull. He became the Readiness NCO at the Pine City Armory. He was deployed to Basra, Iraq in 2009 as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom where he proudly served. His troops were always his top priority. He met many leaders but was most proud to have met General David Petraeus.

Tane’s first wife, Susan, passed away unexpectedly in 2016. He was fortunate to have gone on to meet Kari Norville in 2017 and they were married early in 2019. He was always grateful to have love in his life not once but twice.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan, and his grandparents. He is survived by his two daughters, Ellie and Liz, his wife, Kari, his parents, and his brother, Tregg (Kristen) Anderson, nephew, Elliott and niece, Emma. He is also survived by his stepdaughters Morgan and Nina, along with many friends, aunts, uncles, and cousins and of course his beloved military brothers and sisters.
