In Loving Memory of Sylvia Clara Severson

A devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother.

Sylvia Clara (Broman) Severson, a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother passed away on April 23, 2026, surrounded by the family she held close to her heart.

Sylvia lived a life filled with love and devotion to her family. She was known for her strong work ethic and determination, never shying away from demanding work and always giving her best. Her energy was contagious and she approached life with enthusiasm and a smile.

Born on April 16, 1944, in Minneapolis, MN to Hugo and Clara Broman where she was one of nine children raised and worked on the family farm in Plymouth, MN. Sylvia graduated from Wayzata High School in 1962 and Minnesota School of Business in 1963.

On November 8, 1969, Sylvia married the love of her life, Sheldon Severson. Together they shared a loving partnership and raised a family on the lake in Lindstrom, MN. They had a life filled with care, laughter, and devotion. As a mother, Sylvia was nurturing and supportive of her children, always putting her family first and creating a home that was welcoming and full of love. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother and treasured every moment spent with them.

She will be remembered as a wonderful person that was kind to everyone she met, generous with her time and always ready with a smile or helping hand. Her memory will continue to inspire and uplift all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Sheldon Severson, their children, Shirleen (Tom) Ekstrum, Shawn Severson, Sarah (Mike) McLellan, Scott (Tonya) Severson and grandchildren, Jade, Hannah, Jaxsyn, Nick, Jace, Drake, Noah, Arabella, Camille, Finn and Jamison along with brothers Ben (Ruth) and David Broman, brother in-law Bryan Severson and sister in-law Dora Ann Severson as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Hugo and Clara Broman, father and mother in-law Oscar and Coyla Severson, daughter in-law Kelly Severson, brothers and sisters Roy, Lucille, Bruce, Marcene, Floyd, Rita, and brother in-law Lynn Severson.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lindstrom, MN with visitation at noon and service at 1:00 p.m. with luncheon following the service.

Sylvia’s family would like to thank extended family, friends, and neighbors for their love and support. We would also like to thank the staff at Trinity Lutheran Church and the amazing hospice team at AccentCare.
