life story

Devoted Mom, Grandma, Daughter, Sister & Friend

Susie Lynn (Weyhrich) Nedved, 72, of Sioux Falls, passed away on February 24, 2026 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

Celebration of her life will be from 12:30- 3:00 on March 14, 2026 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 1300 S. Sertoma Ave., Sioux Falls, SD. This is a come & go event.

Susie was born on December 10,1953 to Rolland and Shirley Wehyrich in O’Neil, NE. Her family moved to South Sioux City, NE when she was young. She was born into a family of seven children, so there was always someone around. The highlight for her family each summer was spending several weeks at Vacation Village in Okoboji, IA. She loved spending time with her siblings and cousins at the farm in Chambers, NE as much as possible. When Susie was not at the grocery store helping out as a teenager, you could find her at her grandma Eltie’s house. They always had a special bond!

On October 14, 1973 she united in marriage with Duane Nedved and moved to Sioux Falls. Together they had 3 children; Heather, Hollie, and Sean. Later they went their separate ways but remained focused on the children.

Susie was known for her adaptability, bringing a dedicated work ethic to a wide range of jobs in her lifetime. Some of those jobs included Raven Industries, donut fryer at several grocery stores, kitchen help at a daycare & assisted living facility, and even spent some as an in-home daycare provider.

She was best known for her smile, warm greeting and quick sense of humor. Her kitchen was always well stocked and a hot meal on the table for her children & all their friends. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to share their latest activities and successes. Susie had a way of making people feel welcome and cared for through daily conversations, baked goods, or a shared laugh.

Susie will be lovingly remembered by her children: Heather (Anthony) Clark of Spirit Lake, IA; Hollie Nedved of Sioux Falls; and Sean (Jenny) Nedved of Sioux Falls. Her beloved grandchildren: Cassidy Nedved; Devon, Emersyn, and Liam Schultz; Blake Nedved; Cole and Sylas Nedved; Layla and Izzy Kirkvold; and Sydney Crouch: and great-grandchildren Bentley, Brooklyn, and Ellawyn Crouch. Susie leaves behind her mom, Shirley Noble, to cherish her memory. Susie is survived by her siblings Debbie (Steve) Roost; Judy (Bill) Hungerford; Randy (Wanda) Weyhich; and Kevin (Jenny) Weyhrich.

Susie was preceded in death by her grandma & grandpa Jones; grandma & grandpa Weyhrich; dad, Rolland Weyhrich; stepmom, Marilyn Weyhrich; sister, Beth London; and niece, Robin Taylor.
