Susanna “Susie” “Snooks” Delores Longfors, 65, of Ponsford, MN, died on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND.

Susie was born on March 12, 1958 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Marvin and Dorothy (Gobernatz) Longfors. She grew up in Ponsford and graduated from Park Rapids High School in 1976. During High School she worked for the Texaco Station.

In 1977, she started working for Huron Cement Plant and had her only son, Brian. Later on, they moved to Duluth until returning to Ponsford where Susie worked various jobs including the Candle Factory, where she developed her love of candles and candle making. Around 1993, she suffered a stroke that rendered her unable to work.

Susie was a great cook and was known for her secret barbeque sauce recipe. She was always present at family gatherings and was generous with bringing extra items to share. She was a devoted Wild fan, Twins fan, and Vikings fan. Susie had quite a sense of humor and will be remembered for her jokes, laughter, and smiles.

Susanna is survived by her son, Brian (Amber) Longfors; her grandchildren, Reid and one on the way; her siblings, Raymond Longfors, Margie (Jim) Harju, and Robert (Chris) Longfors; her aunt, Avis Gobernatz; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Dorothy Longfors; her brother, John Longfors; her nephew, Matt Harju; several cousins, aunts, and uncles; and her grandparents.

Visitation will be one hour prior. A Visitation will be held the evening prior on Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. with a rosary service at 6:30 p.m. at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Park Rapids, MN.
