Minneapolis, MN, USA

life story

Passed away on 09-24-24 and was born to Eugene and Wilma Joy on 10-08-47 in Blackduck, MN. She attended grade school in Hines, MN, and then high school in Blackduck, MN. After graduation she moved to Minneapolis to pursue a career in administration and office management. She quickly met the love of her life Patrick "Pat" Sullivan. She loved attending the state fair (never missing a year) and was passionate about donating to a variety of organizations (she particularly cared about donating school supplies to children). Sue and Pat enjoyed walks through Lakewood Cemetery visiting on a regular basis, always commenting on its beauty. She deeply loved her fellow tenants (both current and former) in her building, as well as her neighbors/community members that walked by to greet her every day. Her friends were very important to her. You all know who you are.

Sue was preceded in death by her partner Pat (06-20-23), father Eugene, mother Wilma, brother Dale, brother Jerry, sister-in-law Gloria, and sister-in-law Mary Nipp.

She is survived by her brother Lowell of Bemidji, MN, brother John (Nancy) of Hines, MN, sister-in-law Mary (Dale) Joy, many nieces and nephews, and her beloved cat Chelsea.

Interment will be on Tuesday, October 29th at 12:30pm at Lakewood Cemetery (3600 Hennepin Ave S, Minneapolis, MN). Sue's partner Pat will be interned at the same time as Sue, so they can forever be together.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Sue's name to Joyce Food Shelf in South Minneapolis.
