What an awesome Wife, Mom, Grandma and Friend!

Sue passed away in the loving arms of Wayne, her husband of 56 years. They were always together, soul mates and shining examples of true love. Often seen leaving a trail of dust on their Harley, she was so kind to all and always was up for fun. She will be remembered for her zest of life, love of adventure and kind spirit.

Through the Years

Sue grew up in Duluth, MN and was the daughter of Clifford and Crystal Rankin (deceased), along with her sister Merlyn (deceased). Her favorite early memories were spent with her cousins and auntie Helen. After that, she would camp and boat with her 3 kids (Lisa, Chrissy and Gary (deceased). They'd clear the land, pitch the tents and sing songs around the campfire like "Swiss Family Robinson" just North of Stillwater. The Kokomo could often been seen on the St Croix river where so many amazing, lifelong friendships were formed. She was a talented seamstress, needle pointer and so creative. If you were lucky enough to have one of her creations, you knew you were loved. When her son passed away, her generous spirit called her to adopt his son, Ryan, and raise him as her own.

Sue is survived by her husband, Wayne Erickson, daughters' Lisa DeBettignies (husband Cory DeBettignies), Chris Conner (husband Mark Conner) and son, Ryan Erickson. Her grandchildren include Tausha Ales, Dylan Conner, Logan and Taylor DeBettignies and great grand daughter, Aria Ales.
