Steven Lee Timm, 64, of LaPorte, MN passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at the Green Pines Acres Nursing Home and Rehabilitation in Menahga, MN.

Steven was born May 29, 1959 in Minneapolis, MN to Richard and Marlene (Amborn) Timm. He was united in marriage to Denise Affeldt and they had two sons, Mitchel and Nathan.

In his free time, Steven enjoyed being in nature, he liked hunting and was an avid angler, particularly on Lake Kabekona where he built a cabin and would often fish with his family and friends. Steve was active in the Boy Scouts – both as a leader and scoutmaster – for a number of years with his two sons who both became Eagle Scouts. He shared his joy of the great outdoors with his family, camping in many environments and locations across the US, even camping in igloos during winter. He frequently took his family on road trips across the US including Yellowstone, Devil's Tower, The Grand Tetons, Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Washington DC, Mount Rushmore, the Grand Canyon, and many more. He was also a world traveler, visiting Panama, Ireland, Mexico, Honduras, Belize, and Japan.

Grilling was one of Steven's favorite past-times, he built a custom smoker with his youngest son for large gatherings and events. For several years he would host a party for Labor Day and smoke a whole pig for family and friends to share his passion and enjoy each other's company.

Steven worked as an electrical engineer for 40 years at companies including Calix, General Dynamics, and Agere.

Steven is survived by his wife Denise and his sons, Mitchel and Nathan.

Visitation will be held on for one hour prior to the services on Thursday. A bar-b-que reception will follow the service at the funeral home.
