IN LOVING MEMORY
Steven Joseph Henry Bruni
October 19, 1979 – April 30, 2026
Steven Bruni of Red Wing, Minnesota, passed away at home on April 30, 2026, at the age of 46, after a short battle with cancer, surrounded by his wife and beloved dogs.
Steven was born in Billings, Montana, to Nita Bruni. He graduated from Cumberland High School in Wisconsin in 1999. He later met the love of his life, Lisa (Bang), in 2012, and they were married on September 14, 2013 which coincided with his new in-laws 45th wedding anniversary.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa; daughter, Zarina; dogs, Prince and Tucker; mother, Nita Bruni; father-in-law, Byron Bang; brothers-in-law Mike and Greg Bang; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Henry and Rosina Kohn; uncle Dave Kohn; mother-in-law Gayle Bang; and his dogs George and Nicholas.
Steven had a lifelong love of railroads, photography, travel, and zoos—especially the St. Louis Zoo, where he proudly supported their mission as a “zoo parent.” He enjoyed road trips across the country with Lisa, visiting favorite places such as Keystone, South Dakota, and St. Louis, Missouri, and making memories everywhere in between.
A devoted fan of The Dukes of Hazzard, Steven was thrilled to have met the cast. He also once danced on stage with the Blues Brothers, a story that perfectly captured his fun-loving spirit and willingness to embrace life’s unexpected moments. He was known for his humor, his big personality, and yes—his very specific standards, even when it came to something as simple as toilet paper.
Above all, Steven will be remembered for his deep love for his family, his loyalty to his friends, and the joy he brought to everyday life. He had a way of turning ordinary moments into lasting memories.
