life story

Beloved Father, Grandpa, Friend and Golfer

On July 13th, 2023 Stephen Klick was called home. His quick wit, mischievous smirk and competitive spirit will be missed. He was dependable and loyal, a friend to many. Most importantly, we will remember his unconditional love, support and hugs as a Father and Grandpa.

He was happiest sharing time on the golf course, fishing the lakes of MN, having conversation over coffee and playing any sort of competitive game. His one liners will live on forever!

Family, Friends, Country, and Golf

Stephen Klick was born on December 3, 1955. He spent his youth on the river banks of the Mississippi in Champlin, MN with his parents Jack and Joanne Reshetar and siblings Brad, Melanie and Jason. Steve loved playing baseball and hockey, sports he continued at Anoka High School, graduating with the class of '73. His passion for his country led him to proudly enlist and train with the US Army at Fort Riley in Kansas as a Radio Operator and the MN Army National Guard as a Second Lieutenant.

Stephen and Winnie (Stack) Klick married in Anoka MN and moved to Champlin to raise their three children Shannon, Adam and Paul. His legacy was his family and his relationships with his kin.

His passion for fine dining started as a restaurateur in the family business, Little Jack's Steakhouse in Northeast Minneapolis. He spent the majority of his 50+ year career in the hospitality and golf industry. Focusing on great food, a space for memories, and making people laugh, he held a special place for the numerous co-workers he met along the way.

He took great pleasure in the game of golf and the opportunity it allowed to share traditions and camaraderie. He was able to hide his tender and sensitive side behind his competitive squeeze, but we knew the truth. The more he liked you the more he teased you!

He is survived by children Shannon Klick, Adam (Meena) Klick, and Paul (Danielle) Klick his grandchildren who created new life in him, Will, Warren and Isabelle Klick ( often referred to as the "babies").

He loved and felt love from the Klick, Reshetar, Stack and Steffenson families, close confidants and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Joanne (Reimer) and Jack Reshetar.

Steve served his community anonymously in sobriety of almost 35 years as a mentor and sponsor. He believed in people healing and finding another chance.

In his own words, "Children make your life, I was very blessed. Be thankful for a healthy family and great friends, my life was special."
