Shirley Margaret Schaefer

life story

Shirley Schaefer (Houser), age 99, of Crystal, MN, and most recently resided Catholic Elder Care, Northeast Minneapolis.

Shirley was truly of "good cloth", always a lady, a good homemaker, faithful wife, loving mother and very proud grandmother. Shirley was a descendant of Boyd and Clara Houser. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Sr. (Pooch), son Stan Jr. and his wife Bev. Also preceding her were grandchildren Jennifer Schaefer, Stanley Schaefer III, Greg With, Steven Schaefer, grandson-in-law Jon Danielson, and Marge's partner, Jim Dickerson.

Shirley had four generations of children beginning with Marge With (CO), Stanley & Bev Schaefer (MN), Bill & Rose Schaefer (FL/MI), Beth Shefveland (MN), many grandchildren, greats, and great-greats.

Her ashes will be set to rest with her husband at Ft. Snelling National Cemetary. Since all family resides out of state, no services are planned.

My dear Mother, I am so blessed that I was able to care for you over the past years. I wouldn't change it for anything. Thank you for all of the sacrifices you made as a mother and all that you gave. May your new life be one of absolute joy! Even though we had to part physically, I pray you will always be with me spiritually.
