A Loving Mother and Great Friend

Shirley Margaret Loomis, Age 76 of West St. Paul, MN Passed away peacefully on May 9, 2023, surrounded by her children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron; parents, Thomas Sr. and Agnes McKenna; sisters, Dorothy Schmoller; Marjorie Kisch, Rose “Babe” Olson, brothers, Thomas Jr. "Bud", Charles, Eugene "Sam", and Robert. Survived by her children Ron (Shelly), Jennifer (Terry) Hayes, and Katie (Dan) Hughes; her grandchildren Tommy, Jacob, McKenna, Jared, Mary and Emma; and her brother, John McKenna.

Shirley was the youngest of nine children, a fiery redhead who grew up on the lower east side of St. Paul, MN and graduated from Johnson High School in 1965. She retired from the MN Department of Labor and Industry after which she was able to spend several years doing the things she loved such as gardening, enjoying time with her children and grandchildren and breathing in the fresh air along the North Shore of MN. Shirley was most known for her wittiness, intelligence, kindness, sense of humor and her love of the perfect margarita. We're going to miss her something fierce.
