Sher S Kyweriga (Wood)

July 12, 1953 – November 15, 2025

Plymouth, MN, USA

Sher S. Kyweriga (Wood), 72, of Plymouth, Minnesota, passed away on November 15, 2025, in Brooklyn Park at the J.A. Wedum Residential Hospice from Glioblastoma, a form of brain cancer, surrounded by loving family members.

Sher was born on July 12, 1953, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Margaret and Lyle Wood. She was the oldest of six siblings.

While attending the University of Minnesota, Sher met Bob (Robert) Kyweriga. The story goes that she was walking up the stairs of the architecture building against the flow of traffic with a friend who knew Bob. Sher was all Bob saw in a sea of people, and it was love at first sight for both of them. They married in September 1973. Walking against the flow was something Sher would do throughout her life—always charting her own path and encouraging others to do the same.

Sher lived life with passion and purpose, never doing anything halfway. Her distinguished career began at Honeywell in marketing and continued at GE Capital, where she was Vice President of Global Communications. She went on to lead communications at Woodward, Mercer HR, American Express, Thrivent, and Make Music before transitioning to change management, where she brought her expertise to companies including Land O'Lakes, Medtronic, SuperValu, and Best Buy.

After retiring—seven times—Sher embraced new creative pursuits with characteristic determination and joy. She became an accomplished watercolor artist and devoted herself to knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She was a voracious reader, an enthusiastic gardener, and cherished time spent with her husband Bob and close friends. Above all, she adored her three grandchildren and her two beloved dogs, Giordi and Star. She was a fixture at the dog park, where she knew every dog by name (their owners, not so much).

Sher had a gift for encouraging others to take leaps and chase their passions, no matter how crazy they might sound. Her enthusiasm for learning new things and diving in completely was infectious and inspiring to all who knew her.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert Kyweriga; daughters Julie (Don) Wagner, Renee Kyweriga; son Nicholas Kyweriga; her three grandchildren: Talia Wagner, Mara, and Niko Kyweriga; brother Jeffrey (Patricia Keeler) Wood; and sisters Lori Wenzel and Linda Fox; and many nephews and a niece.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at St. Barnabas Lutheran Church, 15600 Old Rockford Road, Plymouth, MN 55446.
