Sheldon Oien, 65, of Bagley, Minnesota died on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota.

Sheldon was born on June 11, 1956 in Bagley, MN to Clarence and Lorinda (Walberg) Oien. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. He attended Bagley High School and went on to obtain his GED.

Sheldon worked as a Logging/Sawyer with David Vorderbruggen, and as a truck driver for Knife River, Bowerly, and Jack Larschbaugh. He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in July of 1980.

Sheldon enjoyed gardening and tinkering on small engine repair projects. He was quite the sportsman, and always loved to be outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, or gopher trapping with his dog, Dozzer. Sheldon also was a talented wood craftsman and created some beautiful wood works.

He is survived by his daughters, Sharon (Ben) Lauderbough of New Hope, MN, Theresa (Jason Peterson) Oien of Bemidji, MN, and Mandy Rabideau; seven grandchildren; his significant other, Jodi Thomason of Bagley, MN; his brother, Leeland Oien of Bagley, MN; and other relatives and friends.

Sheldon was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Lorinda Oien; his brothers, Kenton Oien and Carston Oien; his aunt, Hazel Olson; and his aunt and uncle, Morgan and Ruby Oien.
