About Sheila
Sheila Blanche (Howell) Page, 87, of Hines MN, died Friday May 19, 2023, at her home in Hines, MN.
Sheila was born January 11, 1936, to Gladys and Bernie Howell in Bemidji, MN. She lived in California for a few years with her family before they returned to the Bemidji area where she graduated from Bemidji High School in 1953. In high school, she was a cheerleader for many years and was very proud to have been selected as the first OJT intern at Beltrami Electric.
On December 19, 1956, Sheila married her high school sweetheart, Dale Page, in Bemidji. They lived in Germany for a year while Dale served in the U.S. Army. In 1958, they moved back to Bemidji for 4 years prior to moving to the St. Paul area. In 1976, Dale and Sheila returned to Bemidji where she enjoyed her years working at Omeara’s, the Pioneer, and the Travel Chalet. In 1999, they moved to Hines where she lived for 24 years during the summer and fall. During the winter and spring, they traveled to Texas, Florida, Alabama, and for the last 13 years they would snowbird to their second home in Wickenburg, Arizona.
Sheila’s greatest joy came from raising her four children and watching them raise their families. She loved to needlepoint and cross stitch and made a Christmas stocking for each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved camping, playing cards, weekend trips with her high school girl friends, and looking for the hummingbirds to return each year to MN.
Sheila is survived by her spouse Dale, four children, Laree (Craig) Strand of Bemidji, Brad (Nadene) Page of Blackduck, Teresa (John) Meierhofer of Tenstrike and Steve (June) Page of Waterloo, Alabama, 10 grandchildren and soon to be 14 great grandchildren along with some very dear cousins, nieces, nephews, and step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Francis & Lottie (Weaver) Howell and Pearl & Cora (Congdon) Barnell; her parents, Bernie and Gladys (Barnell) Howell, and sister, Shirley Sande, and brother-in-law, Lee Sande.
