Shawn Leonard Swain

"Glad you could see me!" was one of his catch phrases!

Shawn Leonard Swain, age 64, of Rosemount, Minnesota, formerly of South St. Paul, passed peacefully away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at home with his partner, Jill Dau, at his side.

Shawn, along with his twin sister, Sherrie, was born to Earl and LaVerne (McMorrow) Swain on July 20, 1957. (Fun fact: they were the largest twins born at Divine Redeemer; each weighing over 9 pounds.)

Shawn graduated in 1975 from Simley High School. Following graduation, Shawn worked as a welder for majority of his career and later as a school custodian. His hobbies included, camping, fishing - especially ice fishing on Mille Lacs, watching Minnesota sports, reading, cooking, barbequing, mastering Sudoku puzzles, playing cards or games, and visiting family or friends. Shawn was active on bowling and horseshoe leagues. He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh!

Shawn was preceded in death by his parents and older sister, Marilyn. Survivors include his siblings Terry, Craig, David, Sherrie and Kelly; children; grandchildren; and a large wonderful extended family and fantastic friends.

A celebration of life will be held from 3pm to 7pm Saturday, August 20, 2022 at the Croatian Hall - 445 2nd Ave So., South St. Paul, MN.
