Sharon J. Van Houten (née Brown)

Age 80 years of Champlin Minnesota passed away peacefully on April 18, 2025 after an 8-year battle with Dementia. Preceded in death by parents Don and Arlene Brown and Richard Brown (Brother). Survived by Robert (Husband), Linda Gasparrini (Sister), Jon, Craig, and Douglas (Son's), and 6 Grandchildren (Hailey, Dylan, Sophia, Layla, Cole, and Oaklyn).

Sharon met Robert in Wadena, MN where she met the Love of her life and they were married on April 1st,1967 and just celebrated 58 years of marriage.

Sharon drove school bus for 35-years in the Northwest Twin Cities Metro area. She immensely enjoyed her bus driving career and all the lovely children she transported. Affectionally known as "Mrs. Van" by all her kids. She loved dancing, bowling, playing cards, Vegas trips, snow birding in Alabama, listening to Back to the 50's music, and watching our sons playing sports. Sharon was a loving and kind wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Robert and Sharon enjoyed daily lunches, Car rides, and spending time outside the house. With the help of family members, we were able to keep Sharon at home with In-Home Hospice care. Sharon's fun loving and adventurous spirit will be missed by many that loved her.

Sharon's family would like to express their appreciation to the Life Spark In-home hospice care team for their professional and loving care during a difficult time. They were a blessing.

In Lieu of Flowers the Van Houten family wishes you to donate to the "Dementia Society of America" in Sharon's Memory.

A "Celebration of Life" event will be held on May 31, 2025 at the Church of the Epiphany.
