After 18 months courageously battling colon cancer, Shannon received her peace on May 6th, 2021.

Shannon was born to Gary A. and Marellen (Marly) Farsund on September 13, 1974 in Minneapolis. She is survived by her husband Bill, her three young sons, Miller, Meyer and Morgan, her parents, siblings, Derek (Karen), Michelle Farsund-Hall (Brian), many other family members and friends.

Shannon attended Nativity of Mary, Olson Middle School and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1993. She then attended Normandale Community College and received her degree in Business Communications from the University of St. Thomas. She most recently was employed at Questar Assessment, Inc. for the past 12 years. Shannon was a devoted mother, she had such a bright smile, a kind heart, and a love for people. Her favorite thing was planning parties and making people laugh. She had a knack for style and creative ideas. During her illness she found a hobby that showed her artistic talent, making inspirational wall hangings. She will be remembered by all who knew her as being strong, brave, hardworking, reliable and fun-loving. She truly will be missed by so many, especially her boys.

Thank you all for your prayers and support, and a special thank you to the amazing people at MN Oncology and St. Croix Hospice that took such great care of her through her illness.

A celebration of Shannon’s life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Shannon’s Cancer fund at My Credit Union on Old Shakopee Rd. or your favorite charity.

The Celebration of Shannon's beautiful life will be held Wednesday, August 25th at St. Edwards Church in Bloomington, MN. There will be a 4 pm service followed by a social gathering from 5pm-7pm.
