About Sara

Sara Kristine Swanson, 51, of Bagley, Minnesota passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2021 after a long battle with brain cancer.

Sara was born at Swedish Memorial Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota on November 1, 1970 to her parents, David and Sheila (Broin) Swanson. The family moved to Fosston, MN in 1973, and a year later to Bagley, MN. It was in Bagley, that Sara and her older brother Mitch grew up with their many friends; having many happy times in their lives.

Sara was confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church, she graduated from Bagley High School in 1989. She attended Bemidji State University for 2 years, studying social work.

Sara’s work experiences included the Good Samaritan Home in Clearbrook, Mastec, and as a Special Education Paraprofessional in the Bagley Schools. Other tasks she enjoyed were, being a Sunday School Teacher, church volunteer, along with volunteering at the Bemidji Human Society. Her interests including raising her children, her love of taking care of and owning animals, especially horses.

Sara had a passion for running and competed in many half-marathons as she worked towards running in a full marathon. Her most important accomplishment was raising her three beautiful children, Heather, Tyler and Hayley who were the loves of her life. Watching them grow throughout the years made her incredibly happy and being able to see her two grandchildren, Briar George and Adalynn Lundmark.

Sara is survived by her spouse -Shannon George of Bagley, MN. Children-Heather (Andrew) Lundmark and their daughter Adalynn of Leonard, MN.

Hayley George of Bagley, MN. Father-Dave Swanson of Lengby, MN. Mother-Sheila (Richard) Reinarz of Blackduck, MN. Aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her brother - Mitchell Swanson and her grandparents.
