Sandra “Sandy” Mae Donaldson, 82, of Mizpah, MN passed away under hospice care on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at D&D’s Caring Hearts in Bemidji, MN.

Sandy was born on April 1, 1940 in Wadena, MN, the daughter of Donald and Norma (Bosell) Larson. She attended school in Upsala, MN until the 5th grade and then Mizpah and Northome Schools, graduating from Northome in 1958. She married Harry L. Donaldson on April 8, 1960 at the Bethesda Lutheran Church in Mizpah, MN. Sandy enjoyed music, singing, gardening, flowers, cooking, and spending time with her family.

She worked at the Farmers Co-op Creamery in Northome as a bookkeeper for 6 years. She took time off for a few years to raise her children, Rod and Greta. She then went to work as a school secretary at the ISD #363 Northome for 27 years. Sandy retired in 2001 and was able to do the things she enjoyed. She was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church of Mizpah. Sandy moved into the D&D Caring Hearts in Bemidji in November of 2020.

Sandy is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Harry Donaldson; her children, Greta Nelson and Rodney Donaldson; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Nancy Coppa and Cheri Reinarz,; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Norma Larson; an infant brother, Darrell Larson; her brother Duane Larson; and sister, Kay Siats.

Pastor Luke Berntson will be officiating. A gathering will follow the service at the Mizpah Community Center in Mizpah, MN. Interment will be in the Mizpah Cemetery at a later date.
