Teacher and Soldier

Ryan M. Eiler, age 32 of Champlin, MN passed away April 26, 2026.

He was born December 14, 1993, a son of Gene and Donna Eiler.

Ryan attended school at the University of Minnesota and University of St. Thomas, where he attained a Master’s Degree in Education.

Ryan was a member of the Minnesota National Guard since 2014, where he ranked as a Staff Sergeant. Staff Sgt. Eiler's most recent duty assignment was as a Squad Leader in Camp Ripley, Minn., based 434th Ordnance Company. His awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal and Army Achievement Medal. Eiler also earned the title of Minnesota National Guard Soldier of the Year during the annual Best Warrior Competition in 2016.

Ryan joined Shakopee school district in 2021 as a Health and Physical Education teacher at the High School - Academies of Shakopee. In March 2025, he also became an Assistant Coach for the boys sprint team.

Survived by his parents, and his sisters, Rachel Eiler and Amanda (Eli) Ballinger.

Ryan had such an impact on so many people and was deeply loved. He will be dearly missed by all.

Memorial Service 11AM Saturday, June 13, 2026 at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, 707 89th Ave NE, Blaine MN (763-784-1329). Visitation in church, Saturday 1 hour prior to service. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
