Ruth Leona Reber

life story

Ruth L. Reber, 85 of Sauk Rapids passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 25, 2026. Ruth was born on April 25, 1941 in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota to Carl and Lena (Athen) Lovitz. Ruth married Kenneth R. Reber on July 24, 1965 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Saint Joseph Minnesota. The couple lived in Saint Anthony Village from 1965 until moving to Sauk Rapids in 2006. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Midwest Mechanics until 1986 and was then employed by Insulation Midwest until her retirement in 2006. Ruth loved her family and friends, spending time with her grandchildren, and going to the casino.

Ruth is survived by her daughters, Vicki Stoeckel of Saint Joseph and Melissa Dunkley (Alton) of Saint Anthony Village; grandchildren, Tessa (Kole Scott), Kayden and Lee Stoeckel, Raegan and Greyson Dunkley; great grandchildren, Wesley and Nova Scott. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Ray and William; sisters, Irene Zwick and Elaine Dollar; son-in-law, Christopher Stoeckel.

We would like to thank the staff at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home and St. Croix Hospice for all of her care.

Funeral service will be Friday, July 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM, with visitation starting at 10:00 AM, at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 325 11th St N, Sauk Rapids, MN 56379. Luncheon immediately following the 11 AM service. Burial will take place on Monday August 3rd at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.
