Ross Thompson, 64, of Bagley, Minnesota died on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at his home surrounded by loving family.

Ross was born in Bagley, Minnesota on December 18, 1957 to parents Thomas and Irene (Sunderland) Thompson. He attended grade school at Minerva country school and high school at Bagley High School, graduating in 1975.

As a young man, he worked for Highway Services and then worked at Itasca State Park, retiring after 31 years. Ross married Robbie Muckala on May 4, 1985 in Bagley and they had one daughter.

Ross had a strong connection to the land where he grew up and held a vast knowledge of the outdoors. He was passionate about waterfowl hunting, deer hunting, and fishing. He enjoyed bird watching and knew many species, especially ducks and geese.

He took pleasure in sharing his knowledge and skills with others, especially his daughter and nephews. Ross was talented at fixing anything indoors or outdoors and always had a project in progress.

He held dear his Scandinavian heritage and enjoyed lefse, lutefisk, and rommegrot. Ross helped many people when they needed it. He was a quiet, humble man who loved his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Robbie

Daughter - Stephanie and her husband Byung Jun Jung of Ulsan, South Korea

Brother - Marc of Clermont, FL

Sister - Caryll (Larry) Newland of Northfield, MN

Sister - Brenda (David) Fischer of Northfield, MN

Nephews, nieces, uncle, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Wayne, and nephews Samuel and Jared Newland.
