Ronald Alan Jiskra

Loving husband, father, son, grandfather, and friend.

Ronald Alan Jiskra, age 67, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 21, 1959, in Ladysmith, Wisconsin.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Lisa (nee Wanner); his sons Ronald (Lisa), Jordan (Annessa), daughter Mary (Robert) Olson; grandchildren Gage, Alexandra, and Gracie. He is also survived by his mother Vera McDonnell; siblings Terry (Jan), Brenda (Bill) Heiple, Lori (Brian) Nickolauson, Steve, Dan (Dustin), Ken (Shelly) McDonnell, Barb (Don) Johnson, and Bob McDonnell; sisters-in-law Vicki Lund and Celeste Gillitzer, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Alfred Jiskra and stepfather Ken McDonnell; sister, Judith Jiskra.

Ron had deep love for his family. He was an avid sports fan, often watching more than one game at a time, and monopolizing the TV remote. Ron enjoyed bowling, fantasy football, playing cribbage, and watching his granddaughter play softball. He was always ready to share a laugh and his playful spirit with those around him.

Ron graduated from Washington High School and went on to build a life focused on his family. He spent his working years at Bethel Care Center where among his other duties, played Santa Claus for the residents during the holidays for 32 years. Ron will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his sense of humor and the joy he brought to those around him.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Celebration of Life for Ron on Sunday, June 7th, from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at Heritage Park, 1345 Laurel Ave, St Paul Park, MN. There will be a brief prayer service led by Fr. Bob Hart at 3:00 pm. We encourage everyone attending the Celebration to wear your favorite sports team gear or colors.

Ron’s family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the staff at United Hospital for their compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family or donor’s choice.
