Columbia Heights, MN 55421, USA
Ron Eugene Teorey, age 68, of Columbia Heights, Minnesota, passed away after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease that spanned more than 30 years.
Ron was born on October 21, 1957, in Los Angeles, California. He spent his childhood in Arden Hills, Minnesota, where he grew up on the shores of Lake Johanna. He graduated from Mounds View High School in 1976 and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, where he was stationed in Arizona.
After returning to Minnesota, Ron purchased a home in Columbia Heights, where he spent most of his adult life. He worked for many years at State Farm Insurance before beginning a career with the United States Postal Service as a truck driver. He remained there until his retirement.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Kathleen Teorey. He is survived by his ex-wife, Manya; his stepchildren, Billy and Nathan; his brother, Robert Teorey; and many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
Growing up, Ron's family was deeply involved in the barbershop harmony community through his father's participation in a barbershop quartet. These experiences led to many family travels and lifelong friendships with other barbershop families.
Ron had a passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles and treasured the many road trips he took with his brother, Robert. Together they rode to Sturgis, South Dakota, the West Coast, and many destinations in between, creating memories that lasted a lifetime.
He was also an avid collector of firearms, including World War II-era machine guns, and was known for his mechanical abilities and do-it-yourself spirit. If something needed fixing, Ron was often the person people turned to for help.
Above all, Ron will be remembered for his generosity and willingness to help others. Whenever family, friends, or neighbors needed assistance, his answer was almost always the same: "Yes." His kindness, dependability, and selfless nature touched countless lives.
During his final year, Ron resided at the Minneapolis Veterans Home, where he received compassionate care. In honor of his military service, he will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Ron will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
"A life measured not by what was gained, but by how often he was there for others."
