life story

Our beloved parents, grandparents, gramps and gigi.

Sue was born on November 24th, 1939 and died on April 19th, 2023.

Ron was born on October 6th, 1938 and died on May 5th, 2023.

There are so many moments and images that create a snapshot of their lives, here are some of our Sue favorites....

sunset sunny fishing at Lake Sylvia, a game of bridge at the kitchen with the neighbor ladies- and later in life- at the picnic table with her grand daughter, an inner-tube race along the shore, a pet raccoon in her cupboard and some ducklings in a box, an RV parked at South Padre Island and a walk on the jetty, searching the north shore beaches for agates, hobo dinners in tin foil, fussy red velvet cake on china, a comfy chair at the kitchen table, a morning cup of tea, a garden of lilacs and a bush of peonies, a paintbrush, witty rhyming notes and silly birthday cards, hiking shoes and a trail bike, a 9pm reading ritual, country music on the radio while gardening, a dog by her feet and 10 in her kennel, a friend under her wing, a child by the hand, a stack of perfectly wrapped gifts, a bit of sass and mischief with a huge heart and whole lot of courage, a bible, a prayer and a song

and Ron's....

sharing the binoculars with his granddaughter and quizzing her on birds and trees, listening to Mozart and Beethoven around the campfire, sending hour by hour weather and road condition updates to any traveling family member, the oil stained hands of a small business owner, Triad Pump Co, a beer with tomato juice, a stack of newspapers, pheasant filled corn fields, little league coaching, canoes with kids in the Boundary Waters, late night researching, a drawer full of old greeting cards, a shelf lined with rocks, a chat with the grocer, a bike ride, a drive across Alaska, westerns and war movies, fried potatoes and hot dogs, fillet mignon, storytelling , an arm around the shoulder, a pause for a child, an ever present help, all the time in the world for loyalty and gentleness, a bible, a prayer and a hope
