Rodney S. Sunderland, 71, of Minerva, Minnesota died on Monday, March 14, 2022 at his home surrounded by loving family.

Rodney was born July 26, 1950 in Fosston, MN the oldest son of Stanley and Leatrice (Sorenson) Sunderland. He graduated from Bagley High School and served 6 years in the Army National Guard. He married Susan Schultz on July 8, 1972.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and making jokes. He farmed most of his life and also liked to hunt, fish, read western novels, gather wild fruit to make jams and jellies and feed the birds.

Rodney is survived by his wife Susan, daughter Gretchen (Randy) Swanson of Montrose, MN; son Jeffrey of Bagley, MN; daughter Tabitha (Shawn) Eggert of Blackduck, MN; grandchildren Hayden, Sydny and Karly Swanson of Montrose, MN; Wyatt, Kes and Hudson Eggert of Blackduck, MN; sister Debbie (Gerald) Fenske of Bemidji, MN; brother Dean (Sheree) Sunderland of Bagley, MN; sister Susan (Brad) Brown of Bagley, MN; uncles Laverne Sunderland, Harvey Sorenson, Elton Sorenson and Aunt Ardyce Harstad; brother in-law David (Connie) Schultz; sister in-law Vivian (Kurt) Mitchell; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rodney was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Leatrice Sunderland; brother David and twin infant sibling; father and mother in-law Alfred and Maxine Schultz.
